Modern country festival Strummingbird expands to Ballarat

Sunshine Coast and Newcastle are calling, and now Ballarat has a new reason to kick up its boots.

Strummingbird, Australia’s modern country festival, is back this October, bringing a mix of homegrown talent, international heavyweights, and a fresh dose of festival magic to three unforgettable locations. Returning to Newcastle and the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October respectively, the newly favourite festival is expanding into Ballarat for 2026, touching down on Saturday 10 October.

The festival, presented by Kicks Entertainment, teases another big lineup for the occasion, with artists announcements set to drop Tuesday 5 May.

Strummingbird is a celebration of country music culture in all its glory: from the free-spirited revelry of Silver Spur Saloon, where cold drinks and good times flow, to immersive pop-ups and experiences tailored to each location. Expect rowdy line dancing, festival-ready fashion, local makers, and surprises around every corner—crafted for both devoted fans and curious newcomers.

Since its inaugural year in 2025, Strummingbird has carved out a reputation for bringing regional towns to centre stage. With sold-out events and a line-up featuring the likes of Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, Treaty Oak Revival, Kaylee Bell, and more, the festival unites communities, supports local economies, and delivers world-class performances in the heart of Australia.
