Welcome to July! We’re officially half way into 2026 – time to get those tax returns in order and mildly panic about where the year has gone. It’s been a great one so far and the next six months are looking even better. A decent chunk of that can be credited to the sterling wave of artists about to hit our shores. Pro-surfer turned multi-platinum musician Jack Johnson is one of them. The ‘Better Together’ songwriter will bring out his Surfilmusic project to Australia, chronicling his life pre-music industry fame, and dissecting surf culture through archival footage, whilst playing his celebrated catalogue.
Also riding the touring circuit this year is UK pop endurance runners Saint Etienne, who will be hanging up the shoes after this leg, as well as Cut Worms for their debut Australian tour, and prog-metal flagbearers Karnivool in their biggest national slog to date. We’ve been sitting, waiting, and wishing for live shows from these juggernauts and they will deliver!
This issue, we also enter breakup season with Yorke and Olivia Rodrigo’s latest music offerings, receive life advice from musical comedian Gillian Cosgiff, and build brand narratives with award-winning Torquay studio Storyfolk.
