So The Weekly’s wrapped for another year and it’s hard not to feel a little disappointed. Wait, no – not disappointed that it’s over, disappointed that this year felt like nothing more than a retread of last year, and last year wasn’t all that impressive either.

Matt Dempsey and close friend Graham opened Tulip Bar & Restaurant on Pakington Street in 2014. Despite it only being in its third year, this contemporary and relaxed space, nestled amongst boutique shops and restaurants, has already received the ‘Best New Regional Restaurant’ award in 2015 and a ‘1 hat’ in both the 15/16 Age Good Food Guides!

Well, if you didn’t manage to get to Derek and the Champ’s gig at Sleepy Hollow Blues Club, you missed out big time. They kicked off with Time is Tight from Booker T and the MGs and, believe it or not, it just got better from there. You’ll just have to keep an eye on their Facebook page for the next gig.
