Fans of Chuck Palahniuk no doubt would have heard that a sequel to Fight Club (the book, sorry folks) is set for release in May 2015 in the form of a 10-issue maxiseries. Fight Club 2 will take place alternately in the future and the past, picking up a decade after the original as it follows the protagonist, his wife, Marla, and their nine-year-old son.

Singer-songwriter and Grammy-winning producer Joe Henry is on his way to Australia in support of Invisible Hour, his latest work. The album is number 13 for the man described as a “literate purveyor of a kind of folk-imbued, smokily jazzified, contemporary ‘adult music’ that in a far better world would reside at the top of the pop charts (San Francisco Weekly).”

For the answer we enlisted the help of the one and only Great Gordo Gamsby. “I broke sixteen concrete bricks on my stomach, breaking my own World Record!” Gordo replied proudly. “I broke that one on The Guinness World Record Show over in Milan. Former Girls frontman Christopher Owens has revealed details about his new solo album, A New Testament. The album is the quick follow-up to 2013’s Lysandre. According to Pitchfork, the album features contributions from John Anderson, Darren Weiss and Danny Eisenberg, all of whom the singer-songwriter shared time with in Girls. A New Testament is due for release late September.

Ken Jeong (Leslie Chow – Hangover) has landed the lead in a new project appropriately titled Ken Jeong Made Me Do It. The series, which revolves around 22-year-old Andy who rear-ends Jeong’s car, only for Jeong to take pity upon him and teach him the ways of being a man, is being written by Andy St. Clair (Arrested Development) and Paul O’Toole. Jeong is also currently filming Ride Along 2.

The duo spent time with Rick Rubin on forthcoming release Death Defying Acts (out August 1), so it’s going to be interesting to see what they have concocted. Scott Fitzgerald, political statements or a much-awaited charity concert, but Dick Diver just so happens to be all three. Formed by Rupert Edwards and Alistair McKay, Dick Diver is a band full of surprises and their name is simply the first of many in what we assume will be a long career ahead.

After doing all they could do in New Zealand, rock quartet These Four Walls made the move to sunny Gold Coast. In New Zealand they managed to score two Top 40 albums and two Top 10 rock singles, and they’re hoping they can follow suit here. Their latest release is the single ‘Rain’, lifted from their album Living to Write the End. Star Hotel – August 29 & The Reverence Hotel – August 30.

Described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin”, Westworld is the upcoming new series from J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan. A pilot for the series, which is based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 sci-fi film about a robotic theme park, was given the green light last August. Nolan is writing the pilot with Lisa Joy (Burn Notice). He will also direct.

A Mad Distance, the debut album by Melbourne songstress Mietta, is a glorious first disc. Drawing elements of acoustic, folk, world and Latin music, the musicianship in terms of the playing is incredibly high on this album. Opening with ‘Sueno’, a slow-burning track, it somewhat feels like this album coincides with an episode of the TV show Global Village, looking at all the different music cultures all around the world.
