“On Pain” presents a unique blend of artistry, with eight original tracks, four of which were co-written by founding Commotions members Blair Cowan and Neil Clark. These very members also lend their instrumental talents to the album.
Recorded in Lloyd’s Massachusetts-based attic studio, The Establishment, “On Pain” is a labour of love that reflects Lloyd’s dedication to creating music that resonates with listeners. As he states, “The challenge was to make music that I’d want to listen to, a record that might be able to stand next to records that I love… I’m excited to still be finding new methods, new perspectives, new sounds.”
Lloyd Cole boasts an impressive discography of 16 studio albums, including collaborations with influential figures like Hans Joachim Roedelius (Cluster). His musical evolution from rock/pop hits in the 1980s and 1990s to more introspective acoustic offerings in the early 2000s, as well as his dynamic full-band ventures, has garnered him a dedicated fanbase. This tour is a chance for enthusiasts to witness his latest musical direction performed live, complete with his poignant and thought-provoking lyrics.
Don’t miss out on this exceptional concert event that brings together Lloyd Cole’s remarkable journey from his days as the frontman of The Commotions to his current solo ventures. Whether you’ve been a fan since his early days or are just discovering his music, this tour promises an evening of musical enchantment.
