Put on your wings, Port Fairy Folk Festival is ready to fly! The magnetic, mystical and straight up magical mainstay music event on Victoria’s South West coast is about to roll back into the region. With a gigantic lineup led by Iron & Wine, Port Fairy is so much more than a live music gathering; it’s a reflection of the rich artistic community. We explore the significance of the festival in our cover story, whilst spotlighting the town and its contributors through our Travel Guide, In The Studio, and Local’s Lounge.
From folk to fiery punk and rock outfits, in music we chat to pop punk pillars, All Time Low (who have dropped album number ten and are gearing up for their return to Good Things), beer appreciators, Cosmic Psycho’s, Australian rock legend Ian Moss, and an artist who was definitely in your top 10 friends on MySpace, John Vesely of Secondhand Serenade.
In food, we tap into the buffet of business at The Mill Castlemaine, boogie with the retro bar bistro-theque Renard, step behind the grill with Leega Korean BBQ, and get a full view of 360Q. We also catch up with croissant connoisseur, Miek Paulus of Ket Baker for Chef’s Corner debunking some baking BS along the way.
We go bold with Ballarat immersive art experience Sunnyside, and head on an adventure with children’s author and all-round creative, Darcy Gaynor. While you’re at it, get a whiff of Geelong’s own perfumer, Aysha Hansen’s new flagship range, and settle under the stars with the season return of Coastal Glamp.
All of this and more is sprinkled inside Issue 770!
