Mano Deli is Manifold Heights sandwich and social spot

Shelves of condiments, the aromatic smell of fresh roasted beans, a cabinet of sweet and savoury treats, and stacks and stacks of sandwiches.

Shannon Avenue, a bustling artery connecting the north and south of Geelong, is home to strip shopping hubs that cater to locals’ every need. From homeware and décor treasures at Frankie Say Relax to the nostalgic Toy World, the street has long been a destination for daily essentials and indulgences alike. Amid this vibrant mix, Mano Deli has carved out its own space as a culinary and community hotspot.

Nestled at the intersection of Manifold Heights and Geelong West, Mano Deli greets passersby with a striking brown and gold logo and street-facing windows boasting “Sandwiches,” “Good Vibes,” and “Tasty Treats.” A white picket fence separates the café from the street, while inside, lush greenery, bold posters, wooden panelling, and white brick walls create a warm Havana-inspired haven. Owner Benji and front-of-house star Jimi are quick to offer a smile alongside a freshly made coffee or sandwich.

Formerly Iberia, Mano Deli evolved into a multi-faceted space housing a deli, café, bar, grocer, bakery, and catering service. Specialising in continental gourmet sandwiches crafted on Zeally Bay sourdough, the menu delights with offerings like the classic tuna melt, beef and pickle, and the punchy pork roll with jalapenos. Sweet tooths can indulge in house-made treats or pastries from Noisette and Zeally Bay, while Coffee Cartel beans fuel the café’s in-house and take-home brews.

Yet Mano Deli is more than food and drink. It has become a genuine community hub. The team proudly supports Geelong’s Buddiup program, providing young men with disability support, social activities, and sports opportunities. Buddiup representatives praise Mano Deli for creating a space where everyone feels “seen, heard, and truly valued.” The deli also supplies Ashby and Roslyn Primary Schools with wholesome lunches, extending their community focus to the youngest locals.
