Twenty years on from the release of ‘Hey There Delilah’, Plain White T’s are preparing to revisit the song that defined an era, announcing their long-awaited return to Australia for a headline tour this October and November 2026.
The multi-platinum Chicago outfit will perform in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, marking their first Australian headline shows in over a decade. The tour arrives amid a renewed cultural moment for the band’s most recognisable track, which has found fresh life with a new generation of listeners and a recent re-entry into the ARIA Singles Chart.

Joining them on all four dates are Adelaide’s own Teenage Joans, a duo whose momentum has been building rapidly across the UK and at home. Fresh from a headline run in Britain and festival appearances at Sound City and The Great Escape, as well as support slots alongside acts such as Biffy Clyro and Hot Mulligan, they arrive on this tour sharpened by a year of international stages and high-profile Australian shows.
For Plain White T’s, the return feels both reflective and renewed. Since forming in Chicago in 1997, the band have evolved into one of pop-rock’s most enduring names, accumulating billions of streams globally and earning multiple Platinum and Gold certifications alongside two GRAMMY® nominations. Their breakout hit climbed to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a defining cultural touchpoint of the 2000s, carried well beyond radio into film, television and internet-era nostalgia.
In recent months, ‘Hey There Delilah’ has experienced a resurgence across social platforms, particularly TikTok, where its stripped-back intimacy has resonated with younger audiences discovering it for the first time. That renewed attention has translated into chart movement and a broader cultural reappraisal of the band’s catalogue.
The upcoming Australian dates follow a recent visit in 2025 supporting Yellowcard, their first Australian appearance since Soundwave 2008. This time, however, they return on their own terms, with a setlist expected to span nearly three decades of material, from early fan favourites through to more recent releases, including their 2023 self-titled album.
Across their career, Plain White T’s have maintained a presence that extends beyond music alone, with appearances and features spanning Sesame Street, iCarly, 90210, Beavis & Butt-Head and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, alongside recognition from TIME, Billboard, Rolling Stone and MTV. Their work has consistently lived in the intersection of pop culture and pop-rock storytelling, anchored by a knack for melody that endures long after first listen.
Before heading south, the band will tour extensively across the United States alongside Yellowcard and New Found Glory, with a 24-city run that takes in major venues from Chicago to New York, Nashville to Boston, alongside festival appearances throughout the northern summer.
