Back by popular demand and quickly becoming a local Christmas tradition, Barwon Edge will host a special cinematic double feature on Sunday 21 December, bringing two of the most beloved holiday films to the big screen: Elf and Home Alone. Families, friends and festive diehards alike can expect a cosy night of nostalgia, belly laughs and pure Christmas joy as Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf spreads cheer before Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister takes over with his iconic, slapstick holiday chaos.
No movie night is complete without snacks, and Barwon Edge is rolling out a menu designed to elevate the whole experience. Attendees can indulge in all the essentials—popcorn, choc tops and warm flatbread—alongside a curated selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, perfect for keeping spirits high as the sun sets over the riverbank.
Gates open from 5.30pm, giving guests plenty of time to claim a spot, settle in with their picnic rugs or chairs, and soak up the festive atmosphere before the films begin. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $18 for kids, making it an affordable and unmissable addition to this year’s Christmas calendar.
With its stunning location, family-friendly lineup and signature Barwon Edge charm, this riverside cinema night is gearing up to be one of Geelong’s most magical outdoor events of the season.
