A highlight of Crayfest is the ever-popular street parade, which transforms Lord and Tregea Streets into a lively, colourful spectacle. From Nippers to cray boats, bagpipes to pirates, Loch Ard peacocks to Ms Crayfest herself (who will take the crown in 2026?), there’s something for everyone. The parade is free to enter, so grab your costume and join in the fun—there’s a $500 prize for the best float, judged by the wonderful folks at Timboon Opportunity Shop (TOPs).

Food lovers will be in heaven at Crayfest, where the Southern Ocean’s wild rock lobster and abalone take centre stage, complemented by gourmet delights from the hinterland. With everything from cheeses, ice cream, and berries to duck, beef, fudge, beer, whisky, and wine, local artisans from the 12 Apostles Food Artisans will be showcasing their finest creations. Port Campbell’s restaurants will also feature exclusive seafood dishes for the weekend, but be sure to make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Alternatively, enjoy some classic fish and chips on the foreshore—just watch out for those cheeky seagulls!

The music program at Crayfest is a perfect blend of local talent and emerging acts, promising to take you from a laid-back vibe to full-on rocking energy throughout the weekend. The lineup this year features Jagr, Mudcat, The Mojo Project, Jacob Paton-Lee Band, and Twety2Four. Local artists will also have their works on display at the Flotsam + Jetsam themed exhibition in the Port Campbell Arts Space, adding an extra layer of creativity to the festival’s artistic offerings.

For those looking to learn something new, Crayfest will offer free fishing clinics conducted by the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA). These one-hour sessions, starting at 10am and running through the day, are open to all ages from 8 years old upwards. The VFA will provide fishing rods and bait, and the Education Officers will teach the basics of fishing, perfect for budding anglers or anyone keen to learn.

The weekend wouldn’t be complete without the beloved beach treasure hunt, organised by the Timboon Lions Club. This much-loved tradition gives kids up to 12 years of age the chance to dig for hidden tokens and win fantastic prizes. Even if they don’t find a treasure, it’s all part of the fun and resilience-building spirit that defines this community-focused event.

Crayfest is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers and supported by various local organisations and sponsors, including the Corangamite Shire, Timboon Opportunity Shop, Bendigo Bank, Port Campbell Surf Lifesaving Club, and many more. This not-for-profit event highlights the strength and spirit of the Port Campbell community, and each year, it’s an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to come together, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

Whether you’re in the mood for great food, exciting performances, or simply enjoying the beachside atmosphere, Crayfest has something for everyone. Mark your calendars for 20 to 22 March, and come experience the best of Port Campbell in a celebration of community, culture, and good times.
