Ballarat’s Itinerant Spirits validated with Vansetter Vodka limited release launch

The limited release vodka varieties debuted on World Vodka Day, Saturday 4 October, with bold new taste.

Ballarat-based distillery, Itinerant Spirits, have levelled up their value with signature Vansetter Vodka range. Launched over the weekend, the award-winning brand brings together two vibrant vodka blend flavours, along with a special spirit for the summer season.

Launched to a spirited crowd on Saturday 4 October at their 1860s Goods Shed repurposed distillery in the heart of Ballarat CBD, the signature range features the fiery freshness of Vansetter Habanero & Lime, and the refreshingly cool Vansetter Cucumber & Mint, along with a sweet citrus cocktail crown, Triple Sec. Each are ideal cocktail foundation, perfectly timed for the warmer weather.

Vansetter Vodka Signature Distilled Varieties

Vansetter Habanero & Lime – Bright and savoury with a lick of spice, this vodka brings the fruity heat of ripe habanero, lifted with sharp lime zest. Bold, clean and balanced, it’s perfect in a Bloody Mary with bite, a spicy Vodka Margarita or a twist on a Paloma.

Vansetter Cucumber & Mint – Crisp and clean, cucumber leads with cool river mint and a hint of black pepper. Seriously refreshing, it shines simply over ice with soda or mixed into a zesty Vodka  Gimlet.

Triple Sec handcrafted with real oranges and features layers of intense citrus, designed to elevate any cocktail.

Taking from their golden growing fields, every bottle is crafted with fresh produce, distilled from locally grown grains and proofed with volcanic spring water, and brought to life through specialty techniques including supercritical CO₂ extraction and vacuum distillation to bottle the bountiful blends of the ingredients. It plays into Itinerant Spirits essence of exploration in innovation and taste profiles. It’s a bold and vibrant approach with a reflective output.

“We weren’t interested in creating more confectionary style vodkas,” says James Fairlie, Head Distiller at Itinerant Spirits. Fairlie’s family holds a rich alcohol ancestry and legacy to match from Scotland’s historic Glenturret Distillery and four years with Four Pillars Distillery.

“By using supercritical CO2 extraction for spice and vacuum distillation for fresh fruit, we’ve captured the true flavour profile of the ingredients. The result is a bold yet balanced blend that feels refreshing, considered and bursting with character,” says Fairlie.

The vodkas add to Vansetter Vodka’s defined production portfolio. Founded in 2023 by Itinerant Spirits, the brand aims to showcase the best local ingredients from the region, adding to Western Victoria’s renowned producer scene.  In just two years, Vansetter has earned medals at international awards at San Francisco World Spirits Competition, London Spirits Competition and Australian Distilled Spirits Awards.

These speciality signature blends have been tested in a limited first run both online and in person from their distillery. More than a mixer, Vansetter Vodka is an experience in a bottle.

“These are the first waypoints in our vodka journey. They reflect what Vansetter stands for: refined exploration, authentic flavours and a sense of wanderlust in every glass. Watch this space, there are more signature flavours to come, each designed to move vodka beyond the artificial and ordinary,” says Brad Wilson, Co-Founder of Itinerant Spirits.

The limited releases are priced at $65 (700ml, 40% ABV) and will be available at Itinerant Spirits before rolling out via select retailers.

Customers are encouraged to visit the distillery or shop online at vansettervodka.com.
