Pulp #643

Hey there everyone! I hope you’re all having a grand ol’ time wandering around catching Pokemon – I know am – and, if by some miracle you’ve missed the phenomenon that is Pokemon Go: how on earth did you manage it? Bad weather and almost gale-force winds mean nothing to us aspiring Pokemon masters. But enough about mobile games – it’s time to talk comics!

Pop Culture #643

With the Melbourne International Film Festival just around the corner, now’s your big chance to see a whole bunch of the kind of films usually only seen inside tiny YouTube windows. Blues News #643

There are some people who make you think you have been wasting your life. Eric Steckel is one of them. He started sitting in on blues sessions when he was 10!

Spectoral: The Level Head EP

There’s something so unusual about the composition and layering that Spectoral uses in his music. Opening number ‘Roots n’ Wings’ is slow, piano-driven to begin with before a slight tribal beat comes to the forefront and the synth becomes a driver for the track. The vocals are consistent, though seem to be held back to try and match the beat of the song.

Tora

It seems that every band you talk to has a story about Glastonbury. About the size of a small city partying it up with 135,000 of your closest friends, what could go wrong right?
