Following a successful grand opening this past weekend on Sunday 8 February, Puppy Yoga Melbourne is the latest sensation to hit our shores. Having found their place in Collingwood, Richmond, Port Melbourne, and Williamstown, the new Geelong brings the operation to regional audiences.
The purpose-built socialisation program has been developed from over 11 years of ethical breeding experience from the team at Homestead Puppies. Puppy Yoga is not just for the cute cuddly factor, but doubles as a training program for the puppies being raised by the Homestead to develop the skills and social skills necessary to integrate into a forever home. The sessions build confidences, adaptability, and establish trust through hands-on exposure to people and new environments.
On the exercise front, the certified trainers guide a session of restful yoga for participants as the furry friends join in the floor activities. The 60 minute session is divided into a 40 minutes yoga sessions, where the puppies roam freely around you, and followed by a necessary 20 minutes of puppy cuddles and photo opportunities. Cap off the delightful session with a delicious cup of home-brewed herbal tea and linger in the pure bliss of the most wholesome session.
You don’t have to be a yoga pro to experience the magic of Puppy Yoga. Puppy Yoga is designed for all levels, from those who have never stepped foot on a mat to those who have mastered the praying mantis pose. Ages from 5 years and older are welcome to the sessions because yoga is for all ages after all!
Each session is different too. By that, we mean the cute fluff-balls are on rotation with a different breed attending each session. There’s Corgi’s, Dachshunds, Cavoodles, and Oodles under the program who all deserve some love and affection.
The next session will be held on Sunday 22 February from 9am – 10am at the Pavilion at Geelong’s Waterfront with Cavoodle’s the main attraction. Gather your friends and get ready for lots of licks and snuggles…oh and yoga!
