Parker’s Steakhouse in Geelong is a long-standing CBD institution set inside a bluestone heritage building, built on a simple philosophy: quality cuts, classic steakhouse cooking, and consistency done properly. It’s the kind of place locals turn to for a dependable night out, whether it’s a celebration or a straightforward steak and wine dinner, with a focus on premium beef, traditional sides, and a relaxed, old-school service style that has kept it firmly part of Geelong’s dining identity for years.
Parker’s Steakhouse has been owned by Doug Unsworth since 2006, but his connection to the restaurant goes back even further.
Originally from Canada, Doug moved to Australia with a background in hospitality and a deep respect for how good food should be prepared and served. When the opportunity arose to take open Parker’s, he recognised it as a place with history and a reputation worth protecting.
Set within one of Geelong's most historic landmarks, Parker’s Steakhouse operates from a striking bluestone building constructed in 1853. The original stone walls, timber beams and heritage character create a warm, rustic atmosphere that reflects the town’s rich maritime history. The charm of the building adds depth to the dining experience, timeless, grounded and full of character, perfectly complementing the traditional steakhouse philosophy Parker’s is known for.
Since then, Doug has focused on consistency above all else. The menu has evolved over time, but the approach has remained the same: quality ingredients, properly cooked steaks, and a dining experience people can rely on.
