Described as an ‘absolute must-see’, AUTO-TUNE is a raucous auto-tune rock opera from re:group performance collective, set in early-2000s Wagga Wagga. It follows Michael, a teenage Silverchair fan who discovers he can time-travel, “auto-tuning” his life to avoid cringe moments. Told through 17 electrifying songs and live video captions, this 55-minute, genre-defying spectacle is a messy, musical love letter to millennial culture—Nokia phones, teen drinking, Limp Bizkit and all. Featuring local high school band Frogrider, it’s a Regional Exclusive at Her Majesty’s Theatre Ballarat.
