November Program

The Snow Queen

7 – 15 November

Fresh from the astounding success of Snow White, Medimime is back to present The Snow Queen; a frosty tale full of laughter, amazing vocals and slick choreography. In this whimsical pantomime retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale, audiences are transported into a magical world filled with laughter, music, and enchantment. Find yourself in the wonderous world of IKEA where the evil Snow Queen faces her match with kind-hearted Gerda and Kai.

The Geelong Short Play Festival

7 – 8 November

Geelong Writers presents the inaugural Geelong Short Play Festival. Six short plays with big stories. Six fifteen-minute plays packing a punch. Six plays celebrating the text. Six original plays, on stage, with engaging and delightful storylines. In short, six of the very best.

Romeo & Juliet

8 – 9 November

You know the tragic love story but not like this. This raw portrayal of Romeo & Juliet will envelop you in the passion, the intensity and the heartbreak of Shakespeare’s most evocative tragedy. Peter Evans’s critically acclaimed production of the greatest love story ever told returns to stages in 2025. Introducing the magnetic Madeline Li as Juliet, this exquisite production is not to be missed.

In 2026 Lano & Woodley will be touring a brand new show all around Australia. Before they head out on the road join them at the Geelong Arts Centre as they present these very special Work in Progress showings of their latest Opus.

Creedence Clearwater Collective

17 November

Get ready for a night celebrating the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty, presenting the music of one of the world’s most iconic bands – from the songs they wrote, to the songs covered, to the songs they wrote for others. You’ve got ‘Fortunate Son’, ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and of course ‘Have You Ever Seen Rain’ along with their take on ‘Proud Mary’. Strap in – this one is a bonafide belter!

Gardening with Sex Toys

19 – 20 November

Get spicy with Back To Back’s Theatre of Speed. Gardening with Sex Toys is about wanting to connect and wanting to feel good. You might think the show is about a bunch of vibrators, but it’s not. It’s about vulnerability and pleasure. It’s about bodies and words. It’s about our attempts to connect with the parts of ourselves and others that sometimes feel unknowable. Back to Back Theatre’s THEATRE OF SPEED wants Gardening with Sex Toys to feel like playing footsy under the table with someone you really like. It’s okay to feel a bit awkward. It’s okay to giggle. New Worlds: Jaime Conducts Cheetham Fraillon & Dvorak

28 November

Melbourne Symphony Orchestra bring one of classical music’s most popular works, Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony to Geelong. With its soulful melodies inspired by African American spirituals, this work is transcendent. The Orchestra also performs a new work by Deborah Cheetham Fraillon AO, which features the extraordinary yidaki (didgeridoo) virtuoso William Barton.
