It was over a century ago that Claire Gemes’ ancestors discovered mineral springs running beneath their family property at Point Lonsdale, which at the time were tapped to water the cattle and orchards. Fast-forwarding generations, Gemes and husband Rob have transformed the limestone cave-sourced mineral water into a restorative experience under the Lon umbrella.

Lon Retreat is a coastal escape where you can soak in tubs and stone baths, swim in the mineral pools, and feel the revitalisation of the sedimentary rock’s natural offering. Housed within a renovated sandstone farmhouse turned retreat are seven luxury suites. There are six single bedroom suites and one double bedroom suite, each designed to exude contemporary luxury. Reflecting the character of the natural surrounds, including leaning into an earthy palette and incorporating elevated home-comforts, Lon Retreat oozes relaxation. Named after types of clouds, drift into Arcus, Nimbus, Pilcus, Stratus, Cirrus, Cumulus and Alto, each offering stunning serene views of the landscape.

On site, Lon also offers a seasonal in-suite dining menu, made up of the best produce offering of the Bellarine.
