Mount Macedon Winery unveils ‘The Wine Den’: An intimate architectural retreat for wine enthusiasts

An intimate hideout called The Wine Den has been carved into Mount Macedon Winery.

Sleek black finishes, stone benchtops, paired with handcrafted floor to ceiling feature stone walls and mountain line: The Wine Den is an architectural masterclass in elite elegance and a new fixture of Mount Macedon Winery. An extension of the Cellar Door, The Wine Den is a hideout for tasters to escape in a gloriously sophisticated and secluded space elevating the dining and drinking experience.

Having opened on 5 September, The Wine Den adds to the hospitality experience of Mount Macedon Winery.

The Wine Den is not just a more private space inside Mount Macedon Winery, it’s a destination in the wine journey as curated by interior architect Shay Conway. Whether you’re a wine novice or a connoisseur, The Wine Den offers guests a bespoke wine tasting experience in an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. The launch coincides with the introduction of a sophisticated new dining menu at the Cellar Door, complete with optional wine pairings meticulously chosen to enhance each dish.

This exclusive wine tasting experience is designed to awaken your senses with ingredient and bouquet pairings for each wine, offering guests a completely unique tasting experience to the region. An opportunity to savour the estate-grown cool climate wines in a setting that celebrates the blend of modern architecture with the natural elements.

Set to become a landmark destination for those wanting a fully immersive wine tasting experience, The Wine Den has a capacity of up to 12 people for private bookings, building on the architecturally constructed secret society vibe.

The Wine Den tasting experience offers two options for those ready to indulge. They are:

• Elementary Tasting ($35 per person): An ideal introduction to Mount Macedon Wineries exclusive wines. This session includes a selection of estate and regional wines paired with ingredients to ignite your palate and aromas to complement. Guests also receive a 10% introductory discount on any bottle purchase.
• Premium Tasting ($55 per person): Designed for the discerning palate, this premium experience offers a curated selection of fine wines, enhanced with custom scent and ingredient notes to explore. This session allows for personalization to taste preferences, with the same introductory offer applicable.

The Wine Den and Cellar Door at Mount Macedon are open from Thursday to Sunday, inviting guests to savour the winery’s esteemed offerings in an atmosphere of refined elegance, inspired by the secluded and stunning elements of nature. Additionally, the adjacent UUMM Restaurant is excited to host Local’s Nights every Wednesday and Thursday, featuring special dining experiences that celebrate the community spirit and local flavours that are synonymous with the region.
