Located at 455 Considines Road, the Surf Coast Sunflower patch transforms across its two week bloom, making every visit a little different. Early in the season brings fresh greenery and newly opened blooms, while the middle weeks deliver a sea of glowing yellow stretching across the paddock. Toward the end, the field shifts again, with a mix of blooms and seed heads ready for collecting or sharing with birds and backyard chooks. Each stage has its own charm, and all are equally worth the wander.
The experience begins on arrival with parking in the adjacent paddock before heading over to Alice the Airstream, where visitors can get the lay of the land and pick up their tickets. From there, it is time to roam freely, choosing your own path through the sun-soaked field and selecting stems to take home. Entry is priced at $10 for adults, $5 for children, or $25 for families, with sunflower stems available for $3 each.
Visitors are encouraged to bring along a picnic, minus the alcohol, and settle in among the blooms to soak up the relaxed farm atmosphere. Cold drinks and light refreshments are also available on site for those who need a refresh between rows. As this is a working farm, closed toe shoes are a must, and furry friends will need to sit this one out, with neighbouring paddocks home to friendly livestock.
The patch is open daily from 9am to 5pm, with extended twilight hours from 5pm to 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, offering a golden hour experience that is hard to beat.
Behind the scenes, this joyful summer ritual is the result of dedication, patience and plenty of hard work. Surf Coast Sunflowers is proudly run by famers and female powerhouses Abbey, Amy and Anna, who have poured months of care into nurturing the crop. Their commitment to sustainable growing and community connection shines through every stem.

Bloom times are always at the mercy of Mother Nature, making each season uniquely special and fleeting by design. To make the experience even more special with a sentimental take-home in addition to the stems, local photographer Lucinda Goodwin is hosting portrait sessions, capturing beautiful headshots amongst the yellow.
So grab your bucket, lace up your shoes and make the most of this bright moment while it lasts. The sunflowers will not wait, but the memories will.
