Known for transforming every stage into a world of its own, Montaigne’s live performances have always been about more than simply playing songs — they are immersive, theatrical experiences built around connection, expression and unfiltered emotion. From intimate rooms to international stages, their ability to move effortlessly between vulnerability, humour and explosive vocal power has cemented their reputation as one of Australia’s most captivating performers.

On the tour Montaigne comments, “It’s been a few years since I did a national tour and I’m really excited to bring my audience together once again to sing, laugh, and cry together, especially for these songs which are especially powerful in a communal setting. I’m so much more confident on stage now than I was 10 years ago and I can’t wait to bring an unfiltered, theatrical experience that hopefully inspires folks to feel free and expressive in their own lives.”

Since the release of Glorious Heights in 2016, Montaigne has grown from one of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists into a fearless creative force with a truly global audience. The album debuted at #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and earned the ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist, introducing the world to a performer whose voice could soar, snarl and shatter in equal measure.

That era established the foundations of what would become Montaigne’s signature: sharp songwriting, theatrical ambition and a refusal to be confined by genre. Their live shows quickly became renowned for their unpredictability and emotional intensity — balancing moments of raw honesty with huge pop catharsis, delivered by an artist completely committed to the moment.

Over the past decade, Montaigne has taken that energy around the world. They represented Australia at Eurovision, bringing their unmistakable style to one of the world’s biggest stages, and continued to expand their creative universe through collaborations with some of the most inventive names across music and beyond. Their work with legendary Talking Heads frontman David Byrne further highlighted their ability to bridge the worlds of art, pop and performance, while their collaboration with acclaimed composer Austin Wintory on the musical video game Stray Gods earned them a Grammy nomination — making them one of only a handful of Australian musicians recognised in that category.

In 2025, Montaigne entered a new creative chapter with the release of their first fully self-produced album, it’s hard to be a fish. The record earned nominations for the Australian Music Prize and the AIR Award for Best Independent Pop Album or EP, showcasing an artist continuing to evolve while remaining deeply connected to their most important tools: honesty, imagination and a fearless sense of self.

Their viral collaboration with Tom Cardy, ‘Red Flags’, became a global phenomenon, amassing more than 170 million YouTube views, while international touring alongside Daði Freyr saw Montaigne bring their electrifying live show to audiences across Europe and the UK. Alongside collaborations with Hilltop Hoods, Ninajirachi and more, their music has reached hundreds of millions of listeners worldwide.

Beyond the music, Montaigne has built a reputation as an artist who makes space for individuality. Their vivid visual identity, candid online presence and advocacy for mental health and LGBTQIA+ communities have become central to their connection with fans — creating a community that celebrates creativity, difference and self-expression.

Now, ten years after Glorious Heights first introduced the world to their singular voice, Montaigne is returning to the album that started it all. Expect soaring vocals, unforgettable melodies, emotional release and a room full of fans singing every word back.

The heights await. Tickets to the tour are on sale now and can be collected here.
