“‘Where Do You Go’ was really a moment where my artistry shifted toward being more candid. I reached a place where I wasn’t interested in perfecting the emotion anymore, I wanted it to be felt. There’s a certain grit in the lyrics, a kind of searching, and I realized the vocal needed to carry that weight rather than hide it behind polish,” she explains. The song embraces imperfection, allowing fractures in the vocal delivery and lyricism to surface as an unvarnished truth. “For me, the voice is the most intimate instrument I have. In this song it sits right at the centre, very exposed and unguarded,” EASAE adds. It is a soundscape in which vulnerability is not a liability but a profound artistic strength.
Collaboration was key in shaping the single’s texture, with EASAE working closely with producer and songwriter Joel Woods. “He’s an artist, producer, and songwriter, and honestly one of the most talented people I’ve had the chance to collaborate with. Joel has this rare ability to really listen to the emotional core of a song and build a sound around it that feels intentional and alive,” she says.
The trust between them allowed the song to remain vocally driven without overcomplication. The result is a sonic space that elevates every nuance of EASAE’s voice, lending the song a life that feels immediate and uncontrived.

The inspiration behind ‘Where Do You Go’ is intensely personal. EASAE recounts a period of disorientation in her life, marked by spiritual tension and relational misalignment. “‘Where Do You Go’ was written during a season of my life where I felt deeply disoriented. There’s a line in the song, ‘I talked to god, I think he heard me.’ That lyric captures the tension I was living in. In many ways, I felt a very clear spiritual conviction about what needed to change, but the weight of that answer felt daunting. The question ‘Where do you go?’ emerged from that moment of hesitation between knowing the truth and having the courage to follow it.” The song became a reckoning, a confrontation with truths she had long resisted, and a meditation on the resilience required to navigate uncertainty.
EASAE’s ethereal sound is informed by both her inner life and her surroundings. The vibrancy of Los Angeles, where nature, creativity, and community intertwine, informs her artistic lens, providing a canvas for introspection and expression.
“I’ve realised that in order to grow creatively, I have to stay connected spiritually. When I take time to step outside, walk, be in the sun, or just slow down enough to listen inwardly, it creates space for ideas and melodies to surface in a more organic way,” she shares.
There is a powerful catharsis threaded through the song, particularly in the line about standing on her own two feet.
“I think there is a kind of catharsis in that line which came from a realization that even when things around you feel like they’re shifting or falling away, there’s still a quiet strength in knowing you can stand on your own two feet and keep moving forward. I have been through a lot (we all have), surviving it all so far has shown me I am truly capable of anything,” she says.
The song becomes both a testament to endurance and an intimate guidepost for anyone navigating the disorientation of change. ‘Where Do You Go’ is more than a standalone single; it is the first glimpse into a larger body of work. “I’ve been very intentional about letting the songs arrive in their own time, so the collection feels honest to the season I’m in creatively and personally. Right now I’m shaping a group of songs that all live in a similar emotional and sonic world—reflective, a little ethereal, and rooted in questions about faith, direction, and growth. It feels like the beginning of a chapter rather than a standalone moment.”
