The new Torquay studio officially opens its doors on Saturday 31 January, bringing Good Folk’s signature gentle, inclusive approach to yoga to a second coastal location. To celebrate, the team is rolling out a full day of free yoga classes, alongside door prizes and membership giveaways, inviting the community to step inside, roll out a mat and see what Good Folk is all about.
The day is packed full of classes to get a taster of the Good Folk way and are a great introduction to the encouraging trainers. All sessions require prebooking, and are now open to secure your slot. Up first, you have morning rituals with Flow 45 with Angus at 7:15am, followed by a standard Flow classed at 8.15am. At 9:30am, try out Mellow with Jess and hit the mid-morning hurdle with an 11am Slow Flow 45 with Vanessa. The afternoon kicks off with Yin with Jess from 12:15pm, and have a 3pm reset with Flow with Ellie. The day finishes off with a Mellow session with Evie from 4.15pm and the restorative Slow Flow & Sound with Lucy from 5.30pm.
At the same time, Good Folk Yoga is preparing to blow out the candles at its original Geelong studio, which turns six years old on 1 February. To mark the birthday, the studio is running a 20% off Birthday Sale, available until 14 February, across memberships and offerings.
Founded on the belief that yoga should feel supportive rather than performative, Good Folk’s classes are proudly choice-based and non-judgemental. There’s no pressure to push, strive or “fix” yourself. Instead, students are encouraged to move in ways that suit their own bodies, energy levels and needs on the day. Think kind movement, gentler breath and a rhythm that feels human rather than hectic.
Alongside regular classes, Good Folk also offers free monthly Foundations classes for beginners, as well as a free Trauma Informed Yoga class every Thursday, making their spaces welcoming and accessible for people at all stages of their yoga journey.
Membership comes with plenty of perks too, including unlimited access to Flow, Slow Flow, Mellow and Yin classes across both Geelong and Torquay studios, free monthly workshops, discounts on retreats and trainings, and even the ability to gift friends seven days of unlimited classes. Members also receive discounts at sister studio Remedy Lane for holistic health services.
With a second studio opening, a birthday to celebrate and a strong focus on compassion over perfection, Good Folk Yoga is continuing to build a wellness community that feels refreshingly grounded and genuinely welcoming.
