Julian Lage is a guitarist who defies easy categorisation, weaving together the precision of classical music with the untamed spirit of the American folk tradition. Recognised as one of the most prodigious talents of his generation, Lage has spent over a decade delving into the rich tapestry of American musical history, guided by impeccable technique, intuitive curiosity, and a restless sense of possibility.
Born in California and now based in New York, Lage has cultivated one of the most dynamic and exploratory careers in contemporary music. His collaborations read like a who’s who of modern jazz and beyond: he has worked with Gary Burton and John Zorn, engaged in intimate duos with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge, and Fred Hersch, and released a steady stream of recordings across diverse lineups and configurations.
As he marks the tenth anniversary of his breakthrough solo album World’s Fair (2015) and celebrates the release of Scenes From Above (2026), Lage shows no sign of slowing. The anniversary tour is accompanied by a special World’s Fair vinyl edition and a meticulously curated songbook, offering fans both a reflection on the past and a glimpse into the boundless possibilities that lie ahead.
Tickets are on sale from 11am AEST Monday 18 May. Head here for full ticketing information.
