“This is one of those rare chances to hear Hannah Joy’s songs in their most raw and direct form,” said Dr. David Corbet, founder of The Sound Doctor. “We’re thrilled to host this intimate performance. It’s everything we love to offer—up close, personal, and deeply emotional. The Sound Doctor’s intimate space is perfect for this kind of experience.”

Middle Kids first rose to prominence with their 2017 breakthrough ‘Edge of Town’, which gained praise from Elton John and led to their win of Triple J’s Album of the Year for debut Lost Friends (2018). Their ARIA Award-winning follow-up Today We’re The Greatest (2021) and 2024’s Faith Crisis Pt 1 have cemented the trio as one of the most vital bands in Australia’s contemporary music scene.

“We’re so excited to have Hannah bring her solo show to The Sound Doctor,” added Dr. Corbet. “Her tour has already sold out in Sydney and Melbourne, and now the Surf Coast gets its turn. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!”

This performance will replace the previously announced show by Hannah Cohen and Sam Evian, who have had to cancel their entire Australian tour due to unforeseen circumstances. The tour adds to an exciting run of shows for 2026, including Emma Donovan heading to the venue on Saturday 28 February and William Crighton appearing on Saturday 9 May, and extends on their huge 2025 with a stacked list of artists serenading Anglesea crowds including The Grogans, De Porsal, Motel Neptune, Bonny Light Horseman (USA), Maple Glider, Press Club, Bad Bangs, Marina Allen (USA), Leah Senior, Joan As Police Woman (USA), Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dragnet, Sonny & The Sunsets, Winter McQuinn, The Maes, Pirritu, Liz Stringer, and Kyarna.

The Sound Doctor continues its mission to bring remarkable live music experiences to the Surf Coast. With a reputation for curating thoughtful, high-calibre lineups, the venue has become a beloved staple in regional live music, recently being named Best Regional Venue (<50 gigs) at the 2024 Music Victoria Awards.
