A record that helped define a generation of Australian indie, Wellness arrived in 2015 during the band’s rapid ascent from Brisbane scene favourites to global festival fixtures. Threaded with euphoric melodies, shimmering synths and restless guitar hooks, the album cemented Last Dinosaurs’ reputation for crafting dreamy, escapist soundscapes that resonated far beyond home soil.
To mark the milestone, the band will revisit Wellness on stage this winter, bringing the album back to life for longtime fans and newer listeners alike. Joining them on tour are US indie-pop favourites Bad Suns, making the run one of the most anticipated local tours of 2026.
In tandem with the tour, WELLNXSS offers a fresh lens on the original record, reworking its songs with the perspective of a band ten years on. Reflecting on the release, band member Sean Caskey shared that Wellness ultimately became a turning point in the group’s creative evolution.
“Ten years ago, Lach, Sloane, Dan and I released our sophomore album Wellness,” Caskey said. “I used to look back on this album as a bit of a failure, because there was so much pressure to follow up In A Million Years. But now I see it as the catalyst for the way we make music today.”
He continued, explaining that the album pushed the band toward a fully DIY approach that reshaped their future releases. “Dropping lo-fi demos on YouTube and seeing that response gave us confidence in our own abilities. That energy carried through to Yumeno Garden, and we’re still riding it today.”
Across five studio albums, Last Dinosaurs have continued to evolve while maintaining the euphoric core that first drew fans in. Their journey has taken them to major global stages including Lollapalooza, Corona Capital and All Things Go Festival, while supporting acts such as Florence + The Machine, Foals and Foster The People. In 2025 alone, the band clocked over 29 million global streams, underlining their sustained international reach.
Featuring fan favourites like ‘Apollo’ and ‘Wurl’, Wellness remains a standout moment in the Last Dinosaurs catalogue — and one set to ignite dance floors once more when the band hits the road this winter.
