Point Lonsdale’s Most Electric Day Party Is Back on the Coast

Point Lonsdale Boardriders’ annual Lighthouse Party returns this February with a stacked lineup, a seaside dancefloor and one of summer’s most anticipated coastal celebrations

There are few places on the Bellarine as instantly recognisable or as loaded with atmosphere as the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. Weathered by salt, sun and time, it looms large over the coastline as a true local icon. Once a year, that iconic backdrop becomes the epicentre of something altogether more electric, as the Point Lonsdale Boardriders’ Lighthouse Party rolls back in and transforms the reserve into a full-throttle celebration of music, community and summer living.

Locked in for Saturday 7 February 2026, the sixth annual Lighthouse Party is set to run from 2pm right through until midnight, and if previous years are anything to go by, this one will be loud, sun-soaked and packed to the edges with people chasing the perfect summer day. With more than 1,000 punters turning out last year, the Boardriders crew are bracing for another bumper crowd as locals, holidaymakers and music lovers descend on the lighthouse reserve for a day that feels distinctly Bellarine. Easy-going, a little wild around the edges, and built on the simple pleasure of good tunes, cold drinks and salt air.

The setup alone is enough to sell it. A wooden open-air stage nestled among moonah trees, the lighthouse towering just beyond, and the ocean never far from sight or sound. As the afternoon rolls into evening, the place takes on that golden-hour glow locals know so well, before sliding into a night that feels less like a gig and more like a shared summer ritual.

This year’s lineup delivers a coastal soundtrack that leans into indie grooves, surfy rhythms and feel-good energy. Elsie, DJ Fenn Wilson & The Weather, Matteo, Randal’s Dad, Shock Corridor, The Groundswell and The Heart Shapes will take turns on stage, creating a steady build from laidback afternoon vibes to late-night dancefloor moments. It is the kind of lineup that encourages bare feet, sunburnt shoulders and the sort of dancing that happens when no one is checking their phone.

Event organiser Max Lazarus says the Lighthouse Party has well and truly carved out its place as a summer highlight for young people across Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff. There is something about the location that does half the work for them. Live music under the lighthouse, surrounded by friends and familiar faces, creates an atmosphere that feels impossible to replicate anywhere else. According to Lazarus, it is simply the best outdoor stage you could ask for.

“We’re stoked to put on another massive day. There’s just something magic about live music under the lighthouse, it’s honestly the best outdoor stage you could ask for.”

Co-organiser Matteo Meirelles agrees, noting that the impact of the event ripples far beyond the dancefloor. The party gives the whole town a lift, drawing people into local accommodation, cafes and shops, and injecting a burst of energy into the quieter corners of the season. More than that, it brings arts and culture right back into the heart of Lonnie, reinforcing the idea that small coastal towns can host big, meaningful moments when the community pulls together.

“It gives the whole town a lift. People come down, fill the rentals, support the local shops, and we get to bring real arts and culture back into Lonnie. The community thrives when everyone comes together like this.”

That sense of community is at the core of what makes the Lighthouse Party special. This is not a slick, promoter-driven event built purely for profit. It is a volunteer-powered celebration run entirely by the Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club, with every ticket sold feeding directly back into the local surf community. The funds raised help support junior surfers and strengthen grassroots programs that keep surf culture alive and thriving along this stretch of coast.

That purpose gives the day a different kind of energy. It feels good to be there, knowing the party you are dancing at is helping the next generation paddle out, chase waves and build confidence in the water. It is community-minded without being earnest, and celebratory without losing sight of why it exists in the first place.

With tickets priced at $39.95, a happy hour running from 2pm to 3pm, and support from local legends Wonki, CBCo Brewing and bobby soda, the Lighthouse Party remains refreshingly accessible for a day-long event of this scale. It is the kind of party you circle on the calendar early, the one that signals summer is well and truly in its stride.

As the sun drops behind the lighthouse and the music keeps rolling, the Point Lonsdale Boardriders’ Lighthouse Party once again proves why it has become one of the Bellarine’s most anticipated events. Big energy, a killer lineup, and a setting that simply cannot be beaten. This is summer, exactly as it should be.
