Taking clear cues from metal powerhouse performative artists BABYMETAL, Poppy and Bring Me The Horizon, RinRin reaches for big builds, unsettling contrasts of light and shade that throw you to the ground by the collar but picks you up with puppy eyes, and playful pauses.
‘Killerher’ opens The Nut House, giving you everything you need to know about the album in 3 minutes and 22 seconds; attention to detail on this album across instrumentation, experimentation and production are highly valued of RinRin’s songcraft. The intensity of the verses driven by drowning guitars and painfully guttural screams, opens to an expansive explosion as she sings of stalker tendencies.
‘built diff’ features guest vocals from Luck XO and fuses the dynamics of each vocalist’s pipes. ‘WASHED’ is a standout from the album, built for live shows with animalistic mosh pits.
RinRin has not only made their entrance with The Nut House but they’ve broken the door down, demanding you to take notice.
