In it’s seventh year the younger sister of River Rocks stands out with some top heavy talent.

Beastwars are skippin’ over the ditch to headline this year’s event. The New Zealand sludge metal four-piece abide by one steadfast maxim: Obey the Riff. Described as “a mongrel mix of Kyuss, Neurosis, and the mighty Godflesh…” (NZ Herald) and playing “heavy tunes for heavy times” (ALARM), the Wellington-based sonic soothsayers utilise the chaos that engulfs our world as ammunition for their defiant howls into the abyss.

Their dominant display is barricaded by an army of support. Sleeping over from an epic event at River Rocks, US punks ZEKE, Asteroid B612, Evil Dick Industries, Emu, Germany’s Slander Tongue, Juliette Seizure & The Tremor-Dolls and Scarnon step back up onto the corner stage ready for round two.

You also have fresh meat, the mighty Moler, Thee Cha Cha Chas, Grim Rhythm and Smoke Witch steaming things up.

This is all following a huge day of play with River Rocks which sees big names Magic Dirt, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs, and Japan’s Fadaway fly into view.

Go to your chiropractor, check you neck and brace up kids – River Rocks Rehab may just send you into the clinic with the sheer force of the riffs, the gut punches of the drum and bass blends, or from what is bound to be a bone-crunching mosh pit.
