Winter Wonderland welcomes the cold at Little Creatures Brewery Geelong

Winter is coming, but in Geelong, that only means it’s time to warm up at Winter Wonderland at Little Creatures Brewery.

Back on the weekend of Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July, the festival invites families, friends, and anyone with a taste for winter magic to lift scarves, kick off boots, and immerse themselves in a weekend of food, fun, and froth.

Where: Little Creatures, Geelong

Keep up to date with the latest in food and drinks across regional Victoria here.

Since opening in 2013 in the historic Valley Worsted Mills, Little Creatures has become more than a brewery. Its heritage halls and bustling spaces have long been a hub for community, craft beer, hearty meals, and celebrations. From ceramics markets to weddings, dog markets to festivals, and regular weekly gatherings, Little Creatures Brewery Geelong is a landmark space for a great time in Geelong. This winter, the brewery transforms into a playground of winter wonder, where little ones can be whisked away into a world of snow queens and mischievous elves while adults toast to the season with warming drinks—or grab one of the brewery’s cold frothies on tap for a refreshing twist.

The weekend is packed with activities that promise to keep every age entertained. On Saturday 4 July the day starts with a sprinkle of magic. From 1–3 pm, the craft fairies flutter in to transform children with face painting and wintery crafts, while the petting zoo outside and indoor bounce castle are open all day for playful adventures. Later, from 4–8 pm, roaming balloon twisters add a dash of whimsy to the mix.

Across the day there is also the traditional mead takeover of Three Horn in the Old Bar. Founders Sam and Zac of Three Horn, Geelong’s first meadery and 2024 National Champion Mead Producers, will pour everything from mulled mead to mead slushies while chatting all things honey wine. Visitors can even grab a signature drinking horn to toast the weekend at home.

As twilight falls, Piccadilly Market, a long-term collaborator that continuously brings market events to the brewery, sets up a magical twilight market from 4–8 pm on Saturday. With more than 60 stalls across Furphy Hall, the Laneway, and White Rabbit, festival-goers can browse handmade winter treasures, sample hot food favourites from the Little Creatures Container Bar, or nibble their way through food trucks and dessert stands. The food truck lineup includes Chubby Bao, vegan dishes from Purple Rabbit, juicy Italian sandwiches from Zio Pop, delicious gozleme from I.F.E delights, the deeply indulgent Ever After Donut, and the moreish Cookie Pies from Lisa Bakes. It’s a chance to shop local, sip slowly, and soak in the glow of the market under twinkling lights.

Sunday keeps the family fun rolling from 12–4 pm with roving magicians and hula hoop performers entertaining visitors young and old. The petting zoo, bounce castle, and Three Horn Old Barn takeover run all day.

Of course, no winter festival is complete without hearty eats. The Winter Warmers menu, part of the Tastes of Greater Geelong festival, is designed to fill bellies and hearts alike. Expect slow-cooked beef croquettes, lamb ragù, diavolo pizza, chilli mussels, and indulgent Belgian waffles. Mulled cider and boozy coffee ensure everyone keeps cosy, while the brewery’s full range of beers and frothies keep spirits lifted.

Winter Wonderland at Little Creatures Geelong is a celebration that caters to every age and appetite. From face painting and market roaming to mead magic and winter treats, Little Creatures is set to hum with community energy, making it a weekend where even the chilliest hearts will feel warm.

Bring a beanie, bring the kids, and bring a sense of winter spirit!
