Strawberry Fields’ beloved boutique sister festival, Wonder Mountain, is heading back to Victoria’s High Country this spring, ready to turn Beechworth into a raucous playground once more. This September, the crew behind the festival will transform the historic Tanswell’s Commercial Hotel into a multi-stage music haven, marking the fifth lap of the festival’s colourful journey.

Running from 11–13 September, Wonder Mountain promises a weekend where live music, dancing, and high-country hospitality collide. The 160-year-old pub, once a haunt of Ned Kelly himself, will be reclaimed by a merry band of festival-goers, where hay bales, cocktails, and double-denim attire mingle under the warm glow of heritage architecture.
Since its debut in 2022, Wonder Mountain has earned a reputation for eclectic, all-Australian lineups, late-night dance floors, and the kind of chaotic energy that only a country-town pub takeover can summon. While the lineup remains under wraps, festival veterans can expect a spread of live acts and DJs cascading across multiple stages — from the intimate corners of Tanswell’s to surprising nooks throughout Beechworth.
It’s a weekend that blurs the lines between a proper festival and a spirited pub crawl, leaving revellers with memories stitched together in music, laughter, and a little High Country magic.

Tickets are known to vanish as quickly as a local vanilla slice, so those dreaming of a spring escape to Beechworth would be wise to secure theirs early.
