Adventure Park’s annual frosty festival is in full swing this school holidays

Winter Glow returns to the region's award-winning amusement park.

Geelong’s water park and theme park on the Bellarine, Adventure Park is back to celebrating the cold season with annual night festival, Winter Glow.

Having kicked off last week on Saturday 20 June, Winter Glow spans the entire winter season, running until 29 August, arriving just in time for the current July winter school holidays. The 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 Victorian Tourism Awards winning festival is back and even bigger than in previous years with real snow, light shows, new rides, and even more fun.

Running everyday of the school holidays with hours from 4.00pm – 9.00pm Monday through Thursday, and 3.00pm – 9.00pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Winter Glow is a festival made for family adventures. At the heart of the festival are the winter experiences, led by Victoria’s largest indoor snow play zone. A winter playground begging you to build a snowman, shape snow angels, throw snowballs and slide down the big snow hill, Snow Zone is a highlight of this years festival program. None of this fake foam to replicate the winter freeze, the Snow Zone is layered with 300 tonnes of fresh, real snow. Be sure to rug up with waterproof layers for this one!

Instead of aiming your snowballs at each other, head to the Snowball Throw Zone. It’s a custom-designed target wall that lets you challenge friends and family to a snowball showdown without the injury.

Also in the Winter Experiences, you’ll find the Ice Princesses coming all the way from their icy Kingdom of Valdarna. In the same zone you can head to the Enchanted Snow Salon for a royal glow up where all little ones can become ice princesses and princes for the day (think crowns, wands, a cloak and a sprinkle of magic dust to complete the transformation). Kids can also get their face painted in the most magical designs as a take home treat from the festival. Be sure to check out the amazing ice sculptures that line the festival from world-class artists, and top it off with a roasted marshmallow. There’s also a designated Winter Warmers menu stacked with treats and meals to warm your belly including burgers, pizzas, hotdogs, and loaded donuts from Munchies, and for the adults the Glow Bar will be slinging hot mulled wine, along with premium beers and premix options. You can enjoy them in the VIP Winter Igloo – the perfect cosy space to settle into for the night and enjoy the action around Adventure Park.

In addition to this transformed zone, Adventure Parks signature fun action is still in operation with some brand new additions especially for the festival. There are two thrills awaiting at Winter Glow – the first is the high-speed run of the 45-metre long Ice Toboggan ride – a snow slope ready to be tackled like the Alps! Joining this sparkling addition is one of the new permanent rides to the park, the Drop Zone. This heart-in-your-throat ride matches its name. It’s a 20-metre high drop tower ride, where the ground below you disappears and you free-fall in a tube. The Drop Zone is the tallest of its kind in Victoria and is designed for the brave!

These two new attractions add to an already exciting theme park ride roster including the gentle tea cups ride, the breathtaking Ferris Wheel, the Grand Carousel, Air Balloons, Little Buggy Speedway and mini golf, all the way to the more accelerating Wave Swinger, the head-spinning Crazy Coaster,  and Red Baron. These rides are all unlimited to hop on all night and included in the admission fee.

If something more slow is your pace for the Winter Glow experience, enjoy the stunning light trail leading you around the park. With massive light displays in all different shapes and sizes from tunnels to sculptures and more, this stunning display will leave you in awe of the picturesque park landscape.
